Dev has spent 25+ years in the world of technology startups in Silicon Valley and India as an early-stage investor and founder. He focuses on investments in software and digital companies originating in India and Southeast Asia.

Since joining Lightspeed India in 2011, Dev has invested in consumer and enterprise companies that have low-friction, software-based models. His software investments include Acceldata, Darwinbox, Innovaccer, Pepper Content and His digital investments include Byju's and Sharechat.

Dev moved to Silicon Valley in 1998 where he was a product manager for CrossWorlds, an enterprise applications integration software company, and then founded Covigo, an enterprise platform for mobile applications.  Covigo was acquired by NYSE-traded Symbol Technologies. Post Symbol, in 2006, Dev joined early-stage venture fund Venrock in Silicon Valley where he invested in one of the early successes in the India-US startup corridor: Slideshare, acquired by Linkedin.

Dev graduated from Penn/Wharton in 1994 with degrees in computer science and finance and from Harvard Business School in 1998.
